Bank of the West hiring 1,000 more at Tempe campus

From AZCentral, Bank of the West hiring 1,000 more at Tempe campus: Bank of the West, which already employs around 250 people at its new corporate campus in Tempe, is planning to add another 1,000 or so workers over the next year. The San Francisco-based bank opened the Tempe office near Broadway Road and Priest Drive late last year after a two-year national search, said John Thomason, head of the company's corporate-services division and leader of the Tempe office. The location will be the bank's second-largest U.S. employment center after San Francisco, where it has a staff of around 3,500 people. Bank of the West was largely attracted to Tempe for its central Valley location and the large number of qualified applicants in the Phoenix metro area, Thomason said. The company is seeking people to fill roles in commercial banking, wealth management, accounting, finance, procurement, information technology, human resources and other fields, he said, and it will conduct interviews at a career open house on Jan. 24. Proximity to Arizona State University, other universities and Sky Harbor International Airport were among other considerations in the search, he said. Click here to read the full article
