Vestar’s 90-Acre Laveen Towne Center Signals Retail Revival in Southwest Phoenix
Vestar has secured approval to move forward with Laveen Towne Center, a 90-acre open-air retail and entertainment hub that will redefine the heart of southwest Phoenix. Following unanimous support from the Village Planning Committee, the project is set to break ground in 2026 and open in winter 2027.
The development will blend modern design with Laveen’s agrarian roots, featuring shaded walkways, community gathering spaces, and the Laveen Village Green — a landscaped hub for outdoor events and entertainment. Vestar’s approach emphasizes adaptive reuse, incorporating materials from the historic Hudson Farmhouse and honoring the community’s heritage through on-site storytelling.
For multifamily investors and developers, the project represents a major catalyst for regional growth. Retail and entertainment anchors often drive residential demand, and Laveen’s expansion aligns with broader population and infrastructure momentum on Phoenix’s southwest side. The addition of walkable amenities, improved roadways, and new employment opportunities will enhance the area’s long-term livability and investment appeal.
As Vestar continues to expand its Arizona portfolio, Laveen Towne Center stands out as a sign that retail and mixed-use development remain key drivers in shaping connected, experience-based communities across the Valley.
